WordPress Custom Theme Dev

After downloading yet another wordpress theme and struggling to make it do anything I wanted, I decided to go down the road of customer theme development. If you are reading this you probably found the same thing I did, lots of sites that told you how to setup the style.css page and maybe a basic index.php file before spanking you on the butt and wishing you good luck! The official wordpress codex is a great resource, but I found it fell short on really explaining what the heck is going on. So in this series I am going to try and document my wordpress theme journey for my own reference, and hopefully someone might find some of it useful.
